The following
two pictures are of "Torro" (Gabriel's father). This dog
was everything this breed should be. Torro is not with us anymore but
he is alive in his son Gabriel...

We are going to show more pictures of Gabriel and Torro as soon as we
have them.

This
is BOSSHOSS! I cannot say enough about this dog. He is everything
this breed should be and then some! This is the smartest, the
most powerful, most loyal, most affectionate (only with me)
creature I have ever known! I do not even think of him as a
dog. 28 In. tall, 195 pounds of love and protection! The absolute
pinnacle of the breed in my opinion. I love this guy more than
my own life and count my blessings with every day he is with
me...
I
am not a breeder, just a man that has been and still is blessed
with 5 awesome examples of this rare and ancient breed. I would
like to say that I do not agree with the current trend of breeding
tall, thin and non protective dogs instead of honoring the
old standard.
Someone
once said "I wish I was the person my dog thinks I am"!
After having lived with these perfect angels for the better
part of my life I have to say that "I wish I was the person
my dog is"!
Why
are short dogs more desirable?
A very wise old italian breeder once told me "The most powerful
dogs have the least sunlight underneath them". It is true
that a dog 28 inches at the shoulder weighing 180 pounds would
hopelessly overpower a dog 32 inches tall and of equal weight...
The lower your center of gravity, the more leverage you have...
It is this combination of low center of gravity and ancient genes
that make these dogs pound for pound the most powerful creature
that ever walked the earth.

This
guy is 30 IN. tall and 225 pounds in ROCKHARD condition!
|
This
is ABADDON! The biggest dog I have ever seen or heard of! Many
claim to have 200 pound dogs but when you actually see them
in person they are rarely over 175 pounds...
This
dog on who's huge paws Rome was built, this dog which enabled
Alexander the Great to conquer the known world is truly the
dog we still have today. Legend tells us that it was our sad
faced friend that used to guard the entrances to heaven and
hell being feared by physical and spiritual beings alike. It
was him that ispired the creation of the first Gargoyles and
spawned the legend of the werewolf. Legend has it that gods
created them in pre history by crossing huge mastiffs and tigers...
|

A
lot of breeders will try to impress you by telling you how tall
their dogs are... Remember that "tall" does NOT mean "big"!
Abaddon will outweigh a 8 In. taller E. Mastiff and has 6 1/2
In paws!
|
|
Respect
and appreciate their power and abillity BUT LOVE THEIR HEARTS!
Some
will yell "IMPOSSIBLE"! There could never be a tiger/mastiff
cross! To those I would like to say that it is "impossible"for
the pyramids to have been built in perfect alignment thousands
of years ago... It is "impossible" by all laws of
physics for the bumble bee to fly... And it is "impossible" for
an old and dying being to make itself young again and yet this
is exactly what happens in a society of bees when on the rare
occasion a new queen is born before the old one dies... The
second this happens their society is split in half and old
and dying bees become genetically young again and leave with
the new queen to start a new society and live another full
life.
So let us not yell "impossible" when legends try to teach
us something... Instead realize that there is more between heaven
and earth than we will ever know or understand.

Below...
This is BOSSHOSS (what a panzer!) next to a 70 pound Labrador/Shepperd
mix... Can we say BIIIIIG...???

|
|
This
is a SOFTBALL next to Abaddon's paw! With his toes tightly
closed he measures a staggering 6 1/2 In. across (not around!)
the paw!

|

On this day I was in the kittchen with the door closed and BOSSHOSS
sniffed it (I am not kidding) too intensely...
|
|
Right...It
is interesting
to note that the bone structure of an old type molossian
is more feline than K9. Just look at Abaddon to the
right...
he resembles a tiger more than a wolf... The sheer size of
his paws and the way he "throws"them is yet another "tiger" trait!
|
|
Let us
not change perfection for fleeting fashion's sake... Let us not turn
this living relic into another English Mastiff... If you are a burglar
and you want to break into the house of an English Mastiff, bring
him some treats and he will show you around the house... The Molossian
will eat the intruder first and then the treats! We have turned hundreds
of breeds into pathetic shadows of a great past... We have German
Shepperds that do not know how to herd, Rottweilers that will not
protect and mastiffs that will sleep right through a home invasion!
Let us not do this to the ancient one. Let us not do this to the
greatest breed to ever walk this earth! This is the smartest, most
powerful, most protective thinking breed there ever was... How could
we improve upon that? Let us not treat him like he is just another
dog but as an equal and see him for what he truly is...
A
GOD AMONGST DOGS!
| Two
kinds of people should NEVER own these dogs. |
1) The
kind that wants just a mean guard/fighting dog and,
2) the kind that just wants a lovedog. |
|
These dogs are both. If you don't understand the fighter in them
you're not able to keep others safe and if you don't understand
their need for love and affection, you're not worthy of their
company!
